With the size of college campuses, it is important to find a unique way to get around, and campuses are finding unique ways to do that.

Liberty University’s main transportation option. According to Liberty University transit services, Liberty offers multiple different routes on their buses that take students around campus. This is of great convenience to many students.

“I use the bus pretty much every day,” said student Nidia Scott, “I could walk, but it would take a really long time.”

Another modern solution for transportation around campus for Liberty students is the brand new Bird Scooters. According to Hattie Troutman of The Liberty Champion, they were approved by the Student Government during the spring 2019 semester. While the option does exist, it does not seem to be ideal for every student.

“I pretty much always do walking or the bus,” said Liberty student Benjamin Hicks, “I’ve never really used the scooters before.

Other schools have found other unique ways to get their students to and from where they are supposed to be. Some take advantage of the metropolitan transportation systems within their own city, or other popular trends within their campus.

According to Fast Company, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill gives students free rides on Chapel Hill public transportation. Fast Company also reported that the University of Wisconsin-Madison allows students to join the city of Madison’s bikeshare program.

Campuses are finding unique ways to get students to and from class, while also trying to ease tension on the jammed parking lots as well. It will be interesting to see how some of these creative solutions continue to improve on the campus experience.
